Activists Protest in Chicago Ahead of DNC

On the eve of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on August 18, 2024, activists rallied in support of Palestine, demanding a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Chicago police were present in large numbers to manage the crowds. The protests included speeches and a march along Michigan Avenue, with many reporters covering the events.

Activists emphasize the importance of ongoing organization and political action, regardless of the outcomes of the current political leadership. More demonstrations are expected throughout the week, with another permitted protest scheduled for the following day.
