International Day of Peace 2024 - UN Chief Message

Peace is under attack across the world, from Gaza to Sudan, Ukraine, and beyond, where civilians are caught in the crossfire, homes are destroyed, and traumatized populations lose everything, sometimes even loved ones.

This endless suffering must end, as peace is the ultimate goal for all of humanity. The International Day of Peace reminds us that the solutions are within reach. To cultivate a culture of peace, we must replace division and despair with justice, equality, and hope, focus on preventing conflict, promoting human rights, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, and combating discrimination and hate.

This month’s Summit of the Future is a crucial opportunity to push these efforts forward. Let’s come together to build a future where peace, equality, and justice can truly flourish.
