Florida Senator's Threats Against Muslim Congresswomen Spark Outrage
Florida State Senator Randy Fine made international news this week, with even the Times of India picking up the story.
Fine, who will be running for a Congressional seat being vacated by Mike Waltz, Donald Trump's nominee for national security advisor, issued an open threat to the two Muslim Congresswomen, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.
With a "Bombs Away" hashtag, Fine wrote, “The Hebrew Hammer is coming.” Fine, who is Jewish, wrote in a post on X, “[Rashida Tlaib] and [Ilhan Omar] might consider leaving before I get there.”
Fine's campaign has been endorsed by President-elect Donald Trump. Fine bragged about being endorsed by the Republican Jewish Coalition this week by referring to himself as the “Hebrew Hammer” while tagging Omar and Tlaib in a tweet.
Fine is not running in the state of Minnesota or Michigan. Instead of calling himself the "Hebrew Hammer," it would be more accurate if he called himself the "Jewish Elephant." That way, it would sound more Republican and less threatening. I would call him an "Ugly Jew," but that too may sound harsh.
As of this writing, neither Twitter nor any law enforcement agency or the FBI has taken action. Making a threatening comment against the only two Muslim congresswomen on his personal social media account was inappropriate, offensive, and unbefitting of a public servant. I should note here that Fine is a Republican activist and former gambling industry executive.
Correction: I just learned that X has suspended Fine's account. No comments from the ADL or any other major Jewish organization as of yet. I wonder if the law enforcement agencies are awaiting orders from the higher-ups.
In November 2023, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to censure U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is the only Palestinian-American lawmaker, for her criticism of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Tlaib has been a vocal critic of the Israeli government for its treatment of Palestinians and had previously called for an end to Washington’s aid for Israel, including $3.8 billion in annual military assistance. Tlaib was also accused of embracing the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” – a pro-Palestine chant that pro-genocide Republicans claim “is widely recognized as a genocidal call to violence to destroy the state of Israel and its people.”
Still, Congress conveniently ignored the incendiary remarks by pro-Israeli lawmakers in Congress like Tom Cotton and Sen. Lindsey Graham, who called for "nuking Gaza," "flattening Gaza," and turning Gaza into a "parking lot" not long ago.
In 2019, upon the request of then-President Trump, the Israeli government denied entry to two newly elected U.S. lawmakers, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, into the occupied Palestinian territories. Trump tweeted, "Both lawmakers hate Israel and hate Jews," which is a big fat lie. A week later, he urged Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to use the Israeli anti-BDS law to deny entry to the only two Muslim Congresswomen.
Can you say disloyal? It is rather bizarre that a sitting U.S. president accuses two U.S. lawmakers—Muslim Congresswomen—of being disloyal Americans. Then, he encouraged a foreign government to deny them freedom of travel, which not only defies logic but truly amounts to treason and a dereliction of duty.
Trump's reasons for doing that:
- Both lawmakers have called for Trump's impeachment.
- The two Congresswomen's unwavering support for Palestine.
- Both introduced a resolution in support of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it meets its obligations under U.S. and international law.
- They are strong critics of Israeli policies in U.S. Congress.
- Both are the only two Muslim women in U.S. Congress.
That should be an insult to every patriotic American. It is a slap in the face to 320 million Americans, considering that Israel is the top foreign recipient of U.S. aid and that Israeli citizens get free health care, free education, and subsidized housing courtesy of U.S. taxpayers.
Republicans have a long history of harassing Omar and Tlaib. On Nov. 26, 2021, Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado apologized after facing a barrage of criticism for telling a story implying that Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota was a terrorist. Meanwhile, Fine is under criminal investigation for his threats against school board members in his district.
He was the only American to celebrate the murder of Turkish-American human rights activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, by the IOF in the West Bank last September. He tweeted on Sep. 7, "One less Muslim Terrorist. Fire away!" Fine has no shame, so he can't be shamed. It is rather odd that Fine, who is a Harvard graduate, would make an open threat against two sitting U.S. lawmakers.
Donald Trump has endorsed Israel-First Republican Randy Fine to replace Mike Waltz in Congress. That explains his belligerent attitude. Fine has supported antisemitism laws and often whined that Jews have been kicked out of every country they’ve ever lived in.
If Republicans are so passionate about Israel, why not relocate Israel from the Middle East to the heartland of America and make it the 51st state? The result will be that the U.S. will have more money to care for our seniors, veterans, and students, and even clean drinking water in a place like Flint, Michigan. Rather than wasting our tax dollars on foreign wars and genocide, American citizens will not have to cough up $3.8 billion yearly to Israel until Doomsday.
I met Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib personally. They are great Congresswomen, wonderful human beings, and true American patriots who put America first, second, and third.
The vicious attacks by Republican thugs on Congresswomen Omar and Tlaib are illegal. They are not your punching bags, and that should stop.
