Elsewhere, the Muslim world faces its own set of challenges. The civil war in Sudan rages on, Pakistan's military consolidates its grip on power, Egypt's leadership aids Israel in its devastating campaign, and Saudi Arabia edges closer to sacrificing Palestine for a security deal with the U.S.
