Al-Aqsa Mosque, the heart of Islamic heritage and faith, stands at one of the most dangerous points in its history.
With the potential return of Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency and increasing Zionist settler aggression, the occupation of Al-Aqsa is intensifying. However, as noted by Islamic scholars, the occupation of the mind is even more dangerous than the occupation of the land.
Al-Aqsa is not just a mosque; it is the spiritual core of Islam's history and future. It was the first Qibla of the Muslims, the place of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) miraculous Night Journey (Isra and Miraj), and a sanctuary blessed by Allah. The Quran and Hadith emphasize its sacredness, making it one of the three holiest mosques in Islam, alongside the Kaaba in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
It is deeply concerning that, despite the presence of over two billion Muslims worldwide, they are unable to deliver even a glass of water to Gaza without Zionist permission. This reflects the extent of intellectual and political subjugation imposed upon the Muslim world.
As the scholar Dr. Khaled Al-Ali highlights, Al-Aqsa is at the very core of Palestinian resistance, symbolizing their unbreakable spirit against oppression.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the status of Al-Aqsa repeatedly. The Hadith mentions that no journey should be made except to three mosques: Al-Haram in Makkah, the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, and Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.
Furthermore, during the Night Journey, the Prophet led all previous prophets in prayer at Al-Aqsa, signifying the passing of spiritual leadership to the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This signifies that Al-Aqsa is not just a historical monument but a pivotal place for the future of all believers. Those who remain indifferent to its plight today will be questioned about their inaction in the Hereafter.
Today, we see cracks forming in the Zionist project, as its internal divisions, global resistance, and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people challenge its legitimacy.
The ceasefire forced upon Netanyahu's government is a testament to this. He does not want to stop the war but is compelled to do so. History teaches us that no tyrant who desecrates Al-Aqsa remains standing forever.
The need for an intellectual and spiritual reawakening has never been greater. We must educate ourselves and others about the importance of Al-Aqsa, support Palestinian resistance, and actively counter the propaganda that seeks to erase our connection to this holy land. The time for passive sympathy has passed-action is required now.
May Allah grant victory to the oppressed and preserve Al-Aqsa for future generations. Ameen.
