IslamiCity Joins AI and Faith in Ethical Tech Collaboration

March 28, 2025 – Culver City, CA — IslamiCity is proud to announce its new partnership with AI and Faith, a leading interfaith organization exploring how spiritual traditions can guide the ethical development of artificial intelligence. As AI continues to reshape how we live and learn, this collaboration brings together diverse voices committed to ensuring technology serves the common good.
AI and Faith is one of the world's most prominent pluralist organizations at the intersection of AI, faith, and ethics. With 200 experts from 19 countries, AI and Faith's network spans academia, technology, religious organizations, media, and the arts, representing five major world religions and the secular study of religion.
David Brenner, Board Chair of AI and Faith, shared:
“We are delighted to partner with IslamiCity as a pioneering organization in applying Islam’s values, teachings, and practices to the ethical design and use of AI. We believe all faith traditions in our expert community can learn from IslamiCity’s decades of experience in building a vibrant and far-reaching global platform.”
Mark Graves, Research Director at AI and Faith, added:
“We look forward to working with IslamiCity to deepen our shared understanding of how AI can engage Islamic thought responsibly, foster public dialogue, and uphold values of justice, compassion, and human flourishing.”
Founded in 1995, IslamiCity is one of the most visited Islamic platforms in the world, attracting millions of visitors annually. It promotes understanding across civilizations through carefully curated content on religion, culture, science, and society. IslamiCity also develops innovative tools to expand access to Islamic knowledge—most recently with ChatILM.ai, an AI-powered assistant designed to offer contextually grounded Islamic responses on a wide range of topics.
By joining AI and Faith, IslamiCity adds a distinctive voice rooted in Islamic ethics and scholarship to a growing network of faith-based professionals, scholars, and technologists. Together, we aim to promote thoughtful engagement with emerging technologies from a moral and spiritual perspective.
“Our faith calls us to think deeply about knowledge, justice, and the future of humanity,” said Mohammed Abdul Aleem, CEO of HADI, the nonprofit behind IslamiCity. “Through this partnership, we hope to contribute meaningfully to the global conversation on AI and ethics.”
Amr Saemaldahr, IslamiCity CTO, added, “Islamic thought has long embraced both science and spirituality. We’re excited to bring that heritage into this important dialogue.”
