Hamas Calls Global Troops 'External Interference', Threatens Resistance

Source: iViews   November 18, 2025

The Hamas movement has issued a forceful and unequivocal rejection of plans to deploy a multinational military force to the Gaza Strip, branding the initiative a violation of Palestinian sovereignty and a form of foreign "guardianship."

In an official statement, the group declared it "will not tolerate any patronage or solutions imposed from outside," asserting that the future governance of Gaza is a "purely Palestinian matter." The statement warned that the presence of foreign troops under any name would fundamentally undermine the will of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.

This rejection directly challenges a newly approved United Nations Security Council resolution that backs the creation of an International Stabilization Force (ISF). The proposed force is intended to provide stability, oversee reconstruction efforts, and train a local Palestinian police force.

Analysts note the dispute reveals a central conflict in post-war planning: international bodies see a security force as a necessity to prevent chaos, while Hamas interprets it as a stepping stone to external control. The group insists that any international presence must not be allowed to operate inside Gaza's borders.

Amid the tensions, Hamas has called on Muslim and Arab nations to support the Palestinian cause and pressure for an end to what it describes as an "Israeli genocidal war."

The plan for an international force also faces practical hurdles. Potential contributing nations are expressing caution, with some, like Azerbaijan, stating they would only send peacekeepers if a complete ceasefire is in place. Furthermore, Israel has stated it will veto the participation of certain countries, having already explicitly ruled out accepting any Turkish forces over concerns about neutrality.
