Allah Sees Your Pain, And He Knows Who Hurt You

Brothers and sisters, one of the earliest and most profound lessons the Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him - had to learn was this: we are on Allah's time, not our own. Allah chooses the moment, the pause, the delay, the breakthrough. And sometimes, that Divine timing can feel heavy on the heart.

When revelation first began, the Prophet longed for clarity. He longed for reassurance. He had just encountered Jibreel for the first time, and naturally, he wanted to know what would come next. But then came a pause - a period where no revelation descended. The silence felt painful. It felt like waiting in darkness without knowing when the light would return.

People mocked him. They said, "Your Lord has abandoned you."
But Allah revealed the truth:

"Your Lord has not forgotten you, nor has He forsaken you."

This was a message not only for the Prophet, peace be upon him, but for every believer who stands in that quiet, frightening space between dua and answer, between pain and relief, between injustice and justice.

Divine Timing Is Not Neglect

In another moment, the Prophet asked Jibreel why he did not come more often. Jibreel replied with a powerful truth Allah preserved in the Qur'an:

"We only descend by the command of our Lord... and your Lord does not forget."

This one sentence is an arrow to the heart of every oppressor and a soothing balm to every oppressed soul.
It means:

  • Allah has not lost sight of you.
  • Allah has not overlooked your tears.
  • Allah has not ignored the harm done to you.
  • Allah has not misplaced your duʿā.

Time may move slowly. Pain may stretch long. Injustice may seem to roam freely. But Allah's timing is perfect, and His memory is flawless.

When Oppressors Walk Freely

It hurts to watch oppressors walk confidently as if nothing happened.
It hurts to watch the world move on while wounds remain unhealed.

But Allah says: do not think He is unaware.
Every oppressor has an appointed day.
Every injustice will be addressed.
Every cruelty will be accounted for - even cruelty to animals.

On the Day of Judgment, even a bird that was harmed will receive justice.
So what about the child in Gaza?
What about the woman in prison?
What about the refugee living in a tent?
What about the person whose name never made it to the news?

Allah has not forgotten them.

Sometimes People Forget - But Allah Never Does

Sometimes someone wrongs you, and you forgive quietly.
Sometimes you swallow your anger because of your relationship with Allah.
Sometimes the other person thinks it's over simply because you've moved on.

But Allah does not forget.

And sometimes the opposite is true - you wrong someone and don't even realise the weight of it because they haven't mentioned it. Yet Allah may hold you accountable until you make it right.

On the Day of Judgment, everything reappears. Every truth. Every harm. Every tear. Every silent moment.

Remembering Others for the Sake of Allah

Just as Allah never forgets us, we are encouraged not to forget others - especially those the world has pushed aside.

Who is missing in your community?
Who is suffering quietly?
Which causes have become "unpopular" to speak about?
Who has been imprisoned unjustly, silenced, or abandoned by their own government?

When we remember the forgotten, we hope that Allah remembers us in a way that brings mercy and honour.

Even a small act - a protest, a message, a prayer, a fundraiser - can restore light to someone's world. Sometimes people cry simply because someone remembered they still exist.

The Lesson For You

Maybe you feel delayed.
Maybe you feel unseen.
Maybe you feel like everyone has moved on while you remain stuck in your own trial.

Let this truth sit deeply in your heart:

Your Lord does not forget.

Not your pain.
Not your patience.
Not your quiet nights of dua.
Not the moments you broke but still held onto faith.
Not the injustice you endured.
Not the goodness you offered when no one was watching.

Allah remembers it all.

May Allah remember us with mercy on the Day when we stand before Him.
May He make us people who do not wrong others, and people who protect the oppressed.
May He allow us to take up the causes of those forgotten on this earth so that we are not forgotten in the heavens.
May He strengthen every heart that waits for justice, healing, or relief - and remind them that Allah has never forgotten them.

Ameen.
