After accepting Islam five or six years ago, one brother found himself facing a difficult battle between his faith and his old ways.
Despite wanting to become a better Muslim, he struggled with addiction, fell back into harmful habits, and found himself surrounded by the wrong company. Just before Ramadan, things reached a breaking point. He felt spiritually lost, emotionally exhausted, and close to giving up on his deen altogether.
But sometimes, our lowest moments become the beginning of our return to Allah. In an unexpected turn of events, he found an opportunity to join a spiritual journey during Ramadan. What initially seemed impossible became a reality when a last-minute place opened up. He describes how making dua, praying in sujood, and being surrounded by brothers who shared his love for Allah began to change something within him.
His experience taught him an important lesson: never allow your struggles or past mistakes to make you feel unworthy of returning to Allah. Whether you are battling addiction, falling into sin, or struggling to maintain your salah, do not let go of whatever connection you still have with your Creator. Keep repenting, keep trying, and keep turning back to Him. As he reflects on his journey, his message is clear: no matter how many times you fall, never give up on Allah's mercy. Sometimes, one sincere step back towards Him can become the turning point that changes your life.
