Syria – Seeking shelter in a destroyed school, the displaced face double hardship in Ramadan Ramadan increases their hardship and hunger, yet they believe in the blessings of this month.

This is what forty displaced Syrian families from Maarat al-Numan say, who sought shelter in destroyed and abandoned school buildings, despite their fragile condition and lack of the basic necessities of a decent life, while the majority of these families are forced to sell their furniture to feed their children.

According to a United Nations study, more than 80% of Syrians live below the poverty line, indicating that the difficult times in Syria are not over yet.
