IslamiCity Content Editor Job Profile
We are looking for a creative Content Editor who is passionate about promoting the beauty of Islam and building bridges of understanding in today’s diverse world. The content editor will be joining the IslamiCity team on a mission to empower people with Islamic knowledge to elevate themselves and be an advocate for Islam as a faith and way of life.
Skills/Qualifications:
Proficient in English
Solid understanding of Islam and Muslims
Good writing, proofreading and editing skills
Creative thinker and problem solver
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with Google and Microsoft office tools, like Docs, Slides, Word, Excel, etc.
Experience with graphics tools like Adobe Photoshop and Canva is a plus
Willingness to learn new tools
Self-motivated and strong work ethic
Responsibilities:
Review, edit, and format submitted content (articles and other pieces)
Participate in content development for IslamiCity
Research and choose appropriate images associated with content
Work with the design team to develop graphics as needed
Build relationships with authors
Regularly check and track content for accuracy
Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate information and to be aware of biases or assumptions
Remote work. 10-20 hours per week.
