A little knowledge with practice is better than much knowledge with no practice
Ever since my first contact with IslamiCity I have had nothing but positive and helpful feedback to any and all questions I have had about Islam and becoming a Muslim.
When I first found your website I had a strong affection in my heart for the way of Islam and was very thirsty for more knowledge. I requested some free literature and a Sister named Bibi called me to offer any help she could. It was so very nice to finally talk to a person instead of reading a book or article, and our talk was very encouraging. I told her of my doubts and of my sincere search for an understanding of Islam that would help me make the right decision about taking the Shahada. She said I should most definitely be sure in my heart and have no doubts about my declaration of faith. A few days later I received some pamphlets and a Qur'an (translation).
A few days later I talked to Ahmed from the Islamic Information Desk at IslamiCity, who shared with me the basics of Islamic faith. I had so many questions about what I had been reading over the past few months and about the literature, and he was very helpful and encouraging. In the beginning of our conversation he said something that really made the whole difference in my decision "A little knowledge with practice is better than much knowledge with no practice."
You see I wanted to know how to do everything perfectly before I took the Shahada. We spoke often over the next three days and I truly felt God working to bring me closer to Islam. At the end of the third day Ahmed and some of the other people at IslamiCity gathered around the speaker phone to bear witness as I pronounced the Shahada. I felt as if something gently entered into my soul, no big flash of light or anything like that but something gentle and real, it was so subtle yet has proved to be so powerful. The way I view the world and the people and creatures in it and my interactions with them. And on a deeper level than that my thought process is steadily transforming.
Life has a new meaning for me and I can feel it gradually increasing. The most powerful thing about all of this is that it is ever so gently changing me, and I feel as if Allah is constantly guiding me.
Thanks to all of your efforts I am now a Muslim and am so proud and grateful that God choose to guide me, truly He knows best. You should all be proud of your efforts if it weren't for you I would still be questioning Islam instead of living Islam, which is what it's really all about. Again thank you all so much and may Allah guide us all, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar!

I defend Islam, I educate others about this faith of God, but have been some how frozen from taking the shahada. We tend to take that for granted. Most of the Muslims in my country are borned being a Muslim. I see many Muslims who claimed that they are Muslims but their character and way of life does not depicts one. It is clearly that God has opened your heart to Islam. But for those who are borned a Muslim does not see or felt that special feeling. Maybe that was why many Muslims in my country living that way.
