Fiqh Council of North America has announced that based on a moon-sighting report from Texas the First day of Ramadan will be October 15th 2004.
Some Islamic organizations have announced the start of Ramadan will be on October 16th 2004.
Please consult your local Masjid/Islamic Center for the start of Ramadan in your area.
Around the world
Ramadan will begin Friday in Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam, and most other Gulf Arab states.
The world's most populous Muslim-dominated nation, Indonesia, also will start Ramadan on Friday.
Muslims in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India will begin the fast on Saturday.
Muslim Council of Britain has announced that the UK Ruiyate Hilal Committee, following a meeting of mosques and affiliates held on 13th October, have announced the first day of fasting will be 15th October.
But as in America several Islamic Centers are also starting Ramadan on October 16 2004 in the UK.
