Eid al-Fitr Announcement 2019
We are bidding farewell to the blessed month of Ramadan, the month of the Quran, the month of fasting, the month of night prayers, the month of forgiveness, the month of goodness and the month of generosity. Eid (al-Fitr) or breaking fast (1st day of Shawwal) comes after finishing the month of Ramadan. Eid al-Fitr is being celebrated on June 4th or 5th, 2019 around the world.
North America
According to the Fiqh Council of North America Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
The Fiqh Council of North America recognizes astronomical calculation as an acceptable Shar’i method for determining the beginning of Lunar months including the months of Ramadan and Shawwal. FCNA uses the criteria of European Council of Fatwa and Research (ECFR), which are that somewhere on the globe, at the sunset, the elongation should be at least 8 degrees and moon should be at least 5 degrees above the horizon. If these conditions are met, the new crescent will be visible somewhere on earth. Hence the new lunar month will start the next day, otherwise, it will start on the day following next day.
On the basis of this method the dates of Eidul Fitr for the year 1440 AH are established as follows:
Eid ul-Fitr 1440 AH:
The Astronomical New Moon is on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 10:03 Universal Time. On that day, near Miami, Florida at sunset the elongation is 8 degrees and the moon is 5 degrees above the sun. Therefore the first day of Shawwal 1440 is Tuesday, June 4, 2019, insha’Allah.

Europe
According to European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR) Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
For the crescent of the month of Shawwal 1440 - 2019 AD
The accurate astronomical calculations for the month of Shawwal 1440H confirm that the pairing will be at 10:02 GMT on Monday, 03 June 2019 corresponding to 29 Ramadan 1440H, which corresponds to 13:01 local time of Mecca. The crescent can be seen on the same day after sunset in most of South America.
Accordingly, it will be the first of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr) for this year 1440 AH, God willing, will be on Tuesday (04) June 2019.

Middle East
Eid Al-Fitr celebrations will begin in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, June 4, the Saudi Supreme Court has announced.
The UAE, Kuwait, and other Gulf countries will all celebrate Eid on Tuesday, with Ramadan ending on Monday and bringing a close to a month of fasting between sunrise and sunset.
In Indonesia, Pakistan, and other Asian countries, no crescent moon was sighted so Eid will begin on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

According to Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
The Australian National Imams Council, acknowledge the different opinions amongst the scholars on this topic and that not all Imams and schools of thought agree on the criteria and methodology used in determining the beginning and the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, including prominent member Imams from the Australian National Imams Council and its executive committee members.

Worldwide Moon Sighting for Shawwal 1440
The Astronomical New Moon (conjunction) is on June 3, 2019 (Monday) at 10:03 UT. On June 3, the moon can be seen with high powered telescope in Americas, and can be seen with difficulty in Polynesian Islands. On June 4, 2019 (Tuesday), the moon can be easily seen in almost the whole world except in New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. May Allah SWT help the Muslims to make united decisions. A good way to start this is to be HUMBLE in all actions similar to the conduct (sunna) of our beloved prophet Muhammad. Allh SWT made the good and the bad. But the good people must protect their goodness if needed even with the sword for the benefit of all. My humble opinion is to do as the prophet did unless he has indicated in his sunna about the allowability of calculation. A problem I see with calculation is a social problem of isolation from the Ummah. Seeing the moon and passing on the good news is more interactive and sociable. Islam is a social religion. We should make Du'a for the Unity of the Ummah.You could notice while some celebrated their Eid since on Thursday others I understand are waiting until they see the Moon with their naked eyes before celebrating the Eid on Sunday.At least those who celebrated on Friday and Saturday we could say it was not bad therefore Alhamdu Lillahi but for Thursday Masha Allah it was so quick although also not bad therefore Allah accept as for those waiting until Sunday Subhanallah the Mutaakkhirin why so late any how it is better than nothing.So therefore this is why I said we should all make Du'a as they committed no crime therefore should not be blamed.Takabbalallahu Minnah wa Winhum.
