Fiqh Ruling and Opinions

There are differences in opinion on attending live jumuah during this global pandemic crisis when masajid are in lockdown.  Many scholars don't recommend (Fiqh Council of North America, Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America), some allow (Islamic Center of Ireland, Al-GhumārīAhmad Kutty), and others say it's borderline (makroah).  One of the opinions, given by an imam at Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah (click here to watch the summary in English provided at Noon Academy, Ontario, Canada) has the following accompanying rules:

1)  Listen to khutba at home live (apply all the usual etiquettes)

2)  Perform two rakahs with the imam (live)

3)  Complete four rakahs of Dhuhr (in-person)
