COMMENTARY on 41:16
Mustafa Khattab:

Translation:
So We sent against them a furious wind,3 for ˹several˺ miserable days, to make them taste a humiliating punishment in this worldly life. But far more humiliating will be the punishment of the Hereafter. And they will not be helped.
Commentary:
3   lit., a bitter and screaming wind.

 

A. Yusuf Ali:

Translation:
So We sent against them a furious Wind through days 4483 of disaster, that We might give them a taste of a Penalty of humiliation in this life; but the Penalty of a Hereafter will be more humiliating still: and they will find no help.

Muhammad Asad:

Translation:
and thereupon We let loose upon them a storm wind raging through days of misfortune, 21 so as to give them, in the life of this world, a foretaste of suffering through humiliation: but [their] suffering in the life to come will be far more humiliating, and they will have none to succour them.
