Christmas,
a time for bridge building |
|
Christmas
is an annual Christian religious holiday commemorating the birth of Prophet
Jesus, peace be upon him. For many Muslims who do not even celebrate the
birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, it becomes an issue of what
stand they should take.
There
have been a number of legitimate criticisms of the holiday from Muslims and
non-Muslims based on theological and cultural considerations. However, this
cannot be used to disregard the holiday as merely an exercise in ancient pagan
practices, for instance, or excessive consumerism. Muslims have to remember that
for practicing Christians, Christmas really is about Jesus .

How
to review what you've memorized of the Quran |
|
"Shaykh

strict daily Qur'an schedule that included review, memorization and reading. I
simply could not find the time to maintain it; I was completing my Master's
degree, conducting research, and working. I could not keep up.
The
Shaykh, in his wisdom, listened to my distress and responded by sharing a
different method with me in which I could memorize and review simultaneously
without feeling overwhelmed.

The
Muslim Jesus |
|
The Muslim Jesus uses the Quran and other Islamic texts to explore the differing ways in which Christian and Muslim faiths both acknowledge Jesus. Scholars, teachers, parents, rappers, poets and historians come together for the one hour special narrated by Melvin Bragg. The differences between the Qur’an and Bible's portrayal of Jesus are explored in detail, from the role of Mary and his death and resurrection, to the coming of the Anti-Christ.

Charity
Give to everyone who begs from you; and of him who takes away your goods do not ask them again. And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to
them.
Jesus Christ
(7-2 BCE - 30-36 CE) Prophet Jesus, also known as Jesus of Nazareth
or Issa is the central figure of Christianity.
