Hello,
In my African History class we are talking about how Islam has shaped and Influenced African culture and traditions. I am posting the information we need to get from those in the islamic faith. I appreciate all the insight into this beautiful religion. Please interview a member of the Muslim Faith and interview
them to get the first hand information about the meaning about the meaning of
these Arabic names, the influences of Islam on African culture, and also role
that Uthman dan Fodio played in bringing Islamic transformation in Northern
Nigeria and the whole of the Islamic faith in Africa. What are the meanings of these words? 1. Islam 2. Dar al-sulh 3. Dar al-Islam 4. Dar al-kufr 5. Dar al-Harb 6. Hijra 7. Jibril 8. Sharia 9. Jihad 10. Muezin 11. Ulama 12. Umma 13. Sunna 14. Kafir al-Kufar 15. Moslem Islam in North and East Africa has been influenced by
African art and culture in different ways. To what extent has Islamic architecture,
traditions, art, weaving and sculpture influence African culture? Discuss with examples. Studying about Islam in Northern Nigeria reminds us the kind
of conflicts that exsist between Christians and Muslims in Sudan. Tracing the background of the Jihad and the religious, sociocultural
reforms in Northern Nigeria, discuss the role that Uthman dan Fodio played in
bringing transformation within African Islam. |
