Assalamu alikum.
Allah categorically in many verses of the holy Qur'an emphasized that no Ibadat will be rewarded in the Hereafter until it complied with the way Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah performed that Ibadat. In many Ahadith the holy Prophet again emphasized on that. He said "Any act of worship not performed according to the way and manner my Sahabas and I performed it will be rejected. Imam Ibin Qayyim in the first volume of his Zadal ma'ad emphasized so. Following the fatawa given by Shaykh Abdul'azeez bin Abdullah Al Shaykh in Mudhdalaf aired in Majd television, I am strongly advising the followers of Muhammad Rasulullah who genuinely have the sincere desire to enter paradise to stick to reading the Ahadith books detailing the Sunna of the holy Prophet and the concensus of the Sahabas. There is the danger as evident during that fatwa, of the Mujtahid (Alim) giving his fatwa according to what he was asked and not what the Sunna is. The fatwa given by the Shaykh was on what constitutes a Rak'a during Salat by a Mamu (one praying behind an Imam). A Rak'a during a Salat consists of Intention, Takbir, Iftitah, Reciting the Opening chapter and a sura, the Ruku', the Tasbih at least 3 times during the Ruku' and the calmness required. These are organic whole and cannot be separated. Umar bin Khattab warned on neglecting the Sunna saying, "There is no excuse for the one doing his Ibdat in error thinking that what he did was according to the Sunna". Friendship |
