As Salaamulaikum Brother NTA.At some point in time we all have been new to Islam.Like Nothing said it can be as hard as you make it for yourself.May Allah make it easy for you.(Ameen) Brother it is ok embrace it.Ive heard of many who were born Muslims and not fully embraced Islam until threre40s.Still, Alhamduillah (All Praise is to Allah)

Than welcome to Islam NTA. The reaction from your family and friends is normal, I have seen it before. But they will get used to it. Islam is vast, it takes times to learn it. That is if you have enough time in the first place.
Islam is simple if you don't make it hard yourself.
