Now just as a quick reminder, one thing I want to say is that these authors are talking only about the physical and mental benefits that we can get by performing the prayers. However, as Muslims we know that prayer is not just for deriving physical and mental benefits, but it is also done for spiritual benefits, for the good of our souls. So we shouldn't think of Salat as some kind of an excercise which will only help our bodies, but rather as an act of worship which will bring us closer to God, and also benefit us in the afterlife as we
