Islam prohibits sexual relations of any kind before marriage. This is called adultery and is clearly explained in the Quran. Check for example: Surah an-Nour (24) verses 2 and 3, Surah al-Isra' (17) verse 32, Surah al-Furqan (25) verse 68, and Surah al-Mumtahinah (60) verse 12. Also, there are several Hadith prohibiting the act. If any person is involved in adultery then he/she should stop, repent, and ask for forgiveness.

Assalamu alaikum
I would like to if any one could answer my question.
Where in the quran does it talk about sex out of marriage as in between girlfriend and boyfriend and what are the punishments and how does one justifify the punishment to go ahead to carry out the punishment.
what are the steps which lead to the punishment.
Refrences would be nice if possible.
