Assalamu alaikum.

No one has answered you. I hope it is not too late to answer you. Ibn Sa'ds Tabaqaat Kaabiir is a very useful book in fact one of the earliest written by muslim historians. I  have the arabic version in 11 volumes containing the name of about 4550 early muslims. It gives you a clear picture of gthe liofe of the sahabas, their students probably to 210 A.H.

What is the significance of the book Ibn Sa'd's Kitab Al-Tabaqat Al-Kabir Vols. 1 & 2 by Haq?  Is this information in the book derived from Quran or Hadith?  Does anyone know who S. Moinul Haq was, the author of the book?  Can anyone please explain what this book means to muslims, and how it would be helpful, or not helpful to understand Islam.  Thanks.
