Who was your wali/guardian for this marriage? You said he converted, but; "after telling him and showing him about Islam and Quran he said I don't feel comfortable." What was he told prior to his "conversion"? |

Asalaam Alaikum Amy,
I don't think that any of us can tell you right now to get a divorce. So are you saying you feel he "converted" to marry you? I can see why that would be awkward! Has he made friends with any brothers in the neighborhood? I ca nsee how hard it would be to stay married, have kids etc. Do you HAVE to divorce, probably at some point. But you'd need to ask a scholar about your specific situation. Maybe he was sincere at the time, and maybe he mislead you in order to marry you. And thus did he understand how important faith and religion are to you? My Duas for you. Hayfa |

Hi Sister,
Appart from this... do you feel happy in your marriage? I mean, is he lovely with you? Does he respect you? Does he please you and take care of you? He tried to convert to Islam just to make you happy, but at the end, if you have no Faith you cannot invent it. If I were you, I would balance the situation. At least, you found an honest man who is not cheating you and telling you that he is a good Muslim while he is not. Think about it, and if you think that differences between you are too much... go to a Mosque a look for a Muslim advice. That one, I don't have it. I can just tell you what I feel. Good luck and sorry for the late answer. I hope you will read it. Patricia |

I'm a moslem sister met a non-moslem person and he was interested in marrying me I told him he must convert first and that i can't force him he said I really want to be close to God and that he will convert. I believed him and he converted and we got married, after telling him and showing him about islam and Quran he said I don't feel comfortable. He used to be christian, he believes that there is one God, but doesn't believe what the Quran says. Should i get a divorce? |
