LOL
God has the right to remain silent. For His advocates, however, each resigned shrug is a missed opportunity to win new converts.

The timing of when is the fasting month start or end is not matter et al, but the response from the ummah in our will to act together. We all know that the decision taken by a leader when it's the right decision than he is right, and when he took wrong decision he is still right.

Yet Iwe heard no disagreement when deciding other months. It's always for fasting month, always.

Saudi started July 20, as most of the rest of the world.

Official Decision and Announcement of the High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia...

Just a short time ago, Fatwa-Online was informed of the official decision and announcement of the High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia that since the moon of Ramadhaan was sighted this evening, here in Saudi Arabia, we have completed twenty nine (29) days of Sha'baan (1433 A.H.), in accordance with the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam):

((Fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you, then complete thirty days of Sha'baan. And break your fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you then fast thirty days)), [transmitted by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim].

Subsequently, we shall be starting our taraaweeh prayers tonight (Thursday 19 July 2012) after the 'Ishaa. prayer, in preparation for the first fast of Ramadhaan tomorrow - Friday 20 July 2012, inshaa.-Allaah.

Assalamu alaika.

If you look at the visibility curve for the month of Ramadan 1433, the Saudis started their fast a day before the commencement of the month.  Therefore today 18th is their 30th day while it should be 29th. Moreover they agreed that conjunction took place at 15.54 UTC making appearance and sighting of Shawwal to be on Sunday. There is no way the saudis can see the moon today even by an expert. I could not see the moon today since according to astronomy it can be sighted by an expert in the magenta zone.
Their argument or statement basing on extensive visibility curve is a way of jesting like that of the Children of Israel when they asked Moses about the red-heifer.

Assalamu alaikum.

The Saudis have announced that the Eid Fitr is on Sunday after all astronomical calculations proved them to be wrong. Their argument is in:

.

Is this not Kufr as explained by Allah in the holy Qur'an 9:37?

Friendship.
