Ive heard this theory before. And can find no fault in it. But I think the real goal is PROFIT. We as Americans have a high standard of living that many others do not ( including most oil producing nations).wages earned by workers here reflect that standard. Oil companies want to acquire their product to sell at the cheapest cost to themselves. Because they don't want to have to pay American workers a higher price. Ive heard estimates that drilling the oil in Alaska would cost the oil companies 3 or 4 times what getting the oil from the mid-east costs.

See the goal is to use up all your oil while keeping our own. Oh and did you know that oil is NOT a scarce resource as the oil barons want you to believe.
