The idea is that when someone enters the Mosque with his phone switched on, ie on standby, the detector discovers it and calls out gently, very nice and polite in Arabic "please observe quiet here, please swich off your mobile phone, thank you". I think this is a good idea and will improve things in the Mosques everywhere. Where can we buy this detector as it doesn't say on that website I mentioned above. I think it's called cellphone detector plus?

The board should penalize everyone whose phone rang during Salah $20, the Jar would be overflowing. |

Whenever I go to the masjid for Jumaa the majority there waste their time before the salat talking or simply sitting as if they're waiting to go to the dentist instead of preparing themselves mentally for prayer. Afterwards almost no one remains to offer their sunnah prayers but rather rush outside to talk about trivial nonsense. The cell phone issue is just another symptom of this lack of seriousness toward solat.

Bismillah, Thanks for the comedy, Brother Rudy! If this is a true story, then I compliment the sheikh's turning his phone on silent and continuing the prayer. That's a good example. But the revenge stuff sounds like kindergarden, which is WHY it's funny. Community, we should get to the Mosque sometimes for many different reasons. One is that we may meet new people whom we can help or whom can help us with our deen. We need to know each other. Give it a try with a new attitude. I know it's hard, but someone may benefit. Last Eed prayer the Khutbah was simply embarassing it was so short and silly. A summary: Have fun on Eed and leave quickly so that the next shift of attendees can get a parking space. I'M NOT JOKING! But usually the message is deep and important! |
