Assalamu Alaikum Ak_m_f, I think it has something to do with the government of Turkey's desire to be a part of the European Union. There is a great deal of pressure to prove to the rest of the European countries that they are a 'modern' culture. I simply don't get it. I live in the US and I don't see anyone telling sisters they can't wear hijab. Restricting a person's faith is a sign of ignorance plain and simple. Allah Hafiz Sister Khadija |

Suleyman, wow what powerful pictures!!! I hope and pray that women inTurkey will be able to wear hijab as they please. At the same time I hope women in Saudi Arabia will be able to take of their Niqabs and walk freely with thier faces shown on the street and have thier rights. Peace

You cant be a good muslim if you are not decent and have a cold heart. Be a decent and kind person and care for women and children and the elderly.

Assalamu alaikum, Thank you for this glimpse into the hard path our Sisters in Turkey must travel. How sad that so many in Turkey, a supposed Muslim country, have strayed from the path of Allah. Indeed, the right to wear hijab is being stolen from us with increasing speed all over the world. It is a thing worth fighting for and worth dying for. May Allah have much Mercy on the souls of Sisters Filiz and Hawa, and all those who suffer to maintain a right given to us by Allah. Peace, ummziba. |
