	Thank you for your welcome. I come here to try to understand Islam better. I am not Muslim nor am I considering a change, but I have known and been impressed with Muslims that I have met around the world over many years. Events in the news portray an Islam very differently than that which I saw in the many Muslims that I have met. And I cannot understand how people can engage in such horrorific actions and justify them in the name of what appeared to me to be a noble religion. Surely some of what I see is media distortion, but just as surely some of the actions sone in the name of Islam that they describe are contrary to the religion that I saw. I am seeking a safe place to try to understand what is going on in this world, and how it can be made better for honorable Muslims and everyone else. Wasaalam.
