Bi ismillahir rahmanir raheem

Hi Bismarck

What it means is that it is confirming the truths which are still contained in the old scriptures and have not been corupted.

Muslims dont believe everything in the bibnle has been corupted or lost but it contains truths and falshood.

Rasul Allah (sallah llahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord" and whoever knows his Lord has been given His gnosis and nearness.

Sura 3:3

It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book,
confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and
the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent
down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

By "the Book confirming what went before it" I take to mean the Holy
Qur'an, yes?

What does it mean, "confirming"? I am talking with a Christian who thinks
that means that the Holy Qur'an should confirm the OT & NT. Since this
Christian sees contradictions between the Holy Qur'an and the OT/NT,
said Christian then is arguing to me that the Holy Qur'an is inconsistent
-- that is says it confirms the OT/NT in Sura 3:3, yet disagrees with it
elsewhere. Would someone please shed some light on this?

Also, what is the Criterion of Judgement -- is that a separate Scripture,
lost perhaps, or written down somewhere as an "Apocryphal" source as it
were?

Thanks again in advance,

Bismarck
