Salem, I need your help again. I know some of these words but not all. (La hola wala qwata illah billa hil alyul azeem) Thanks again Bismillah, Sure thing, chica! There is no trying or effort except with Allah the Great's will. This is always a good thing to say! Look down and you'll see it's the same thing as my signature except that I've transliterated it differently, and mine doesn't have Atheem, the Great in it. Oh, and I might as well mention the "azeem" thing. See, mine is Atheem. It could be Adheem also. But the word in Arabic is with the th sound in the and there. Now, our Pakistani family says the z, but the Arabic is the hard th sound. Peace! Edited by herjihad |

Assalaamualaikum
like superme said the last three meanings by Danty are right and first one by superme is correct. Allah knows best. "And (all) the Most Beautiful names belong to allah, so call on Him by them....." ( سورة الأعراف , Al-Araf, Chapter #7, Verse #180) "Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Invoke allah or invoke the Most Beneficent (allah), by whatever name you invoke Him (it is the same), for to Him belong the Best names" ( سورة الإسراء , Al-Isra, Chapter #17, Verse #110) |

Bismillah, Dear Sister Suzanne, Calling upon the names of Allah, SWT, aids us in every aspect of our lives. Maybe the person suggested these names for the specific problem or worry you have, but reflecting on all of His names and attributes will bring us all peace and many other good things, ISA. May Allah, SWT, increase your knowledge and bless you and your family. |

The last three being called are already explained by Danty, the first one is I think "Glory". Like in the Qur'an it says "Sabbaha lillaahi ma fis samaawati wal ardhi". I read this below here after tarawih in romadhon, usually by following other people, without "Ya". Malaaikat means Angels and Ruh is Spirit. Subbooh, Quddoos, Robbul Malaaikati war Ruuh. Does sound like chanting at Xmas Carol waiting for the Holy spirit, maybe it is. The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. (97:3) |
