how in the world does this work? Should you tie their arms to their body?? And at what ages are they talking about? Kids need to be kids. hands loose?? What is that?? Not make a fist? Where does this come from?

Today the world is moving in such a pace that there is a tremendous increase of crime in every country in the world, both east and west, both Muslim and Non-Muslim. No country is spared these terrible vices and the victims are 99.9% women.

I have to respectfully disagree.  99.9 is not accurate.

I have to say I am very wary about reading things on the internet and knowing who is a scholar and who is not. And any good web site gives hadiths and often a good place will offer if there are differences (as there are in some cases).  Anyone can claim anything.

Sometimes when we write we dont realize how our tone can come across or how it is being interpreted.

Many women today commute in my area more than 48 miles to work. What you are saying sounds just like the Taliban in Afghanistan. The women there could not leave the home without a Maharam and they SUFFERED GREATLY because of it. I totally disagree with you!

Bismillah,

I agree with you, Sister Hayfa and Sister Jenni.

As Salamu Alaikum Sister Jenni

I also live in the real world you know not in a bubble. I was trying to make a point, which you failed to understand. So in order to avoid further misunderstanding I will say no more.

Regarding the Taliban in Afghanistan, are you speaking from experience or are you accusing a Muslim regime on the information you got from the Kufar media. I dont pay any attention to what the media says about any government, so I will refrain from commenting.

May Allah Subhanahu wa Taala bless us with useful knowledge that leads to Jannatul-Firdaus. Ameen!

You cant be a good muslim if you are not decent and have a cold heart. Be a decent and kind person and care for women and children and the elderly.

I am glad you said that. Jazakallahukhairan for your explanation sister Alwardah.

I agree that Hadith may not apply today.

Kindly explain this, i hope i am not misinterpreting you.

Do you mean  hadith gets outdated??

As Salamu Alaikum

Audho Billahe minash Shaitanir-Rajim! Astaghfirullah! I did not mean that the Hadith as a Hadith does not apply today Astaghfirullah! How can I when I know it is Authentic and recorded in both Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Lets look at the wisdom behind this Hadith. Did the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) make such a statement because he did not trust women? NO the message of this Hadith is protection of women.

This Hadith is valid today as it was 1400 years ago.

I was commenting on:

Another good one, ladies  I hope you don't fly alone or drive more that 48 miles to visit your parents!!!!

If we look at this Hadith only in terms and time and distance according to our generation then lets look at the reason behind this Hadith and that is protection of women and apply this Hadith to our societies with the increase in crime, then women should not step outside their homes without a male escort. Here the sister is making a joke of traveling 48 miles today without a Mahram, I was pointing out to her she should not step outside her home without a Mahram.

Insha Allah I pray the explanation is clearer this time.

O Allah forgive us our shortcomings. Ameen!

There is so much useless advice from Islamic Websites when people really just need to use thier common sence, read the Quran ect.!! Tell my why again, that you have a brain???

As Salamu Alaikum

No Sis I dont have any brains, Allah gave ALL to You.

More seriously, this was good advice (Nasihah) from one Muslimah to another.

I saw a sister in deen taking something from one website and mocking it in another. Disagreeing is one thing, mocking is something else. Allah knows best.

Sister Danty, i am not putting words in your mouth, when i say "we", i mean in general, i am not doubting you one bit or accusing you of anything.

You said yourself that you travelled with your husbands permission and if he would not allow , you will not travel. If you think you did not disobey the prophet in this matter, thats your opinion. Allah knows best.

I know circumstances for some women are so bad, they have no man to take care of them and they have to do evreything on their own. And always necessity overrules prohibitions.

I am sure you are trying your best too, to follow the right path. i am sorry if you misunderstood me.

Sister Amah,

When you read my post about women traveling I didnot say that I was not trying to prove that I was independent. And I would never put my husband above our Prophet(SWAT)in obediance. In my post above I did write this about traveling "the Prophet would give advice under the circumstance of some peoples condition." I did not say to go beyond his demands. Please donot put words in my mouth. No one knows one's condtion in life. Yes, we are dependent on some things from our husband. But life cannot always allow us to live that way.
