and the Holly Spirit is the angel Gabriel. He is an angel, who serves God and who helped Jesus, and some other prophets.

*******Are you muslim? I think so not. Only Muslims are allowed to answer questions here, which sincere nonmuslims ask to seek knowledge. Kindly do not post in this section again. Your post was not in line with Islamic teachings*******

God saved Jesus because he is Mercifull. He wouldnt allow such a barbaric thing to be done to his prophet. He substituted the man who betrayed Jesus in his place and lifted Jesus's soul into the heavens. So Jesus never died. And we believe in Islam that he will return, to guide the Christians to Islam and unite the world under one religion and bring peace.

Islam attributes more miracles to Jesus than Christianity, imagine! heheh. We believe, hes was born a miraculous birth and his mother was a virgine, peace be upon her. We believe that his first miracle wasnt to make wine, instead, he spoke as a baby, when he was first born, and defended his mother from the people who were shocked that he was born. We believe he gave life to the dead by Gods permission.

Lets take a look at Jesus's birth in the Bible and the Quran and compare:

The virgin Marry peace be upon her said:

"How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" (Luke 1:34) meaning sexually.

The Quranic narrative is:

"She said: O my Lord! how shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" (3:47) meaning sexually.

In essence there is no difference between these two statements "seeing I know not a man" and "when no man hath touched me". Both the quotations have an identical meaning. It is simply a choice of different words meaning the same thing. But the respective replies to Mary's plea in the two Books (the Quran and the Bible) are revealing.

The Biblical Version

Says the Bible:

"And the angle answered and said into her : 'The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee" (Luke 1:35)

Im telling the Christian can't you see that you are giving the atheist, the skeptic, the agnostic a stick to beat you with? They may well ask "How did the Holy Ghost come upon Mary?" "How did the Highest overshadow her?" We know that literally it does not mean that: that it was an immaculate conception, but the language used here, is distasteful. Now contrast this with the language of the Quran:

The Quranic Version

"He said (the angel says in reply): 'Even so: Allah (God) createth what He willeth: when He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!' " (3:47)

This is the Muslim concept of the birth of Jesus. For God to create a Jesus, without a human father, He merely has to will it. If He wants to create a million Jesus' without fathers or mothers, He merely wills them into existence. He does not have to take seeds and transfer them, like men or animals by contact or artificial insemination . He wills everything into being by His word of command "Be" and "It is".

Between these two versions of the birth of Jesus, the Quranic version and the Biblical version, which would you prefer to give your daughter ? He said the Quranic version. I said how can the Quran be the word of man, and the bible of God, yet the Quran be better then the Bible? Meaning its impossible that mans word would be better than Gods! So the Quran is Gods word! He was quite.

The Holly Spirit in Islam is the angel Gabriel peace be upon him. He is one of Gods mightiest angels, he isnt God or Gods partner.

As for Jesus being the son of God, the Quran tells us that "it is not befitting in the majesty of Allah to begett a son".

Even the Bible says, when it speaks about man compared to God and says:

Job 25:4-6 (New King James Version)

4 How then can man be righteous before God?
Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman?
5 If even the moon does not shine,
And the stars are not pure in His sight,

6 How much less man, who is a maggot,
And a son of man, who is a worm? (compared to God).

So how can man be God and God manifest himself? It isnt possible.

And islam rejects Jesus's death because he didnt have to die. Christianity says he died because of the original sin, for our sins. Islam says that the priginal sin doesnt exist. We all know it isnt fair. If your father steals can we send you to prison? You say no. So because Adam sinned hundreds of thousands of years ago you are accountable? No. Did he ask you what you think before he ate the fruit? No. So why is it your sin? It isnt. A person in responsible for his own actions and God judges us by them, our deeds, not our grandfathers deeds, it isnt fair. And we believe that children are born pure, innocent, they are not sinless. Even the Bible at some point rejects the original sin:

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son (the progeny of Adam) shall not bear the iniquity of the father (Adam), neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die." Ezekiel 18:20-21

In order for Allah to forgive us our sins we repent and he does. Allah says in a hadith that "Oh son of Adam! if you come to Me not associating with me any partners with an earthful of sins I will come to you with an earthfull of forgiveness". God doesnt want us to be angels, he has angels, if he wanted us perfect he would have created us perfect. We sin and he knows it, but than we return to him by repenting and asking forgiveness and do more good deads to outnumber the bad ones.

Hope I answered your questions

I know Islam considers Jesus a prophet.  Was he born of a virgin birth?  And he is not God, nor a son of God, just a man.  And what is the relationship of the Holy Spirit in Islam?  Rather who or what is the Holy Spirit?
