A bad perm is a great reason to buy a beautiful hijab. Silk, Jaquard, Rayon, or if you can afford it Hermes. Sorry thats a scarf. You are beautful on the inside..let your outer beauty shine in your love for Allah SWT your hair will gow back more beautiful than before. Pair up some lovely accesorries and be creative. It could be worse. Some women lose their hair to cancer. Maybe donate the bad hair to Locks of love a charity that uses this hair to children who have undergone chemotherapy. Just a thought. Salaamu Alaykum, Some people would say that since the hadith say we are not to wear wigs, that extensions are like that and it is haram, prohibited, or makruh, something in doubt. I think you might need the perspective of someone who is more likely to wear hair extensions. And as I said, if I had such a problem, I might consider wearing a wig or a scarf. It would depend on my work conditions on how I would handle that. I'd like to be really frank. I think that I would get the advice of a sheikh and or sheikha who has experience in dealing with this type of thing in his or her own life, and of sisters who also can relate more exactly than me. There are so many pretty ways to wear a scarf also. Type hijab and scarf into the search box here and see if you can find all the useful sites for ways to wear this garment. May Allah, The Most Loving and Forgiving guide and help you. |

Bismillah and Salaams, Is she Muslimah? Does she normally think hair extensions are not allowed? I guess that would be like wigs. If I were bald, I might wear a wig or hair extensions, who knows? But what's wrong with a scarf? There are a lot of pretty ways to wear a scarf, and as Sister Angela said, a lot cheaper than hair extensions. If you don't wear them all the time, you could wear them to the mosque, or give them to a friend. |

I'm not Muslim so I couldn't answer that... but I know that a few years ago I had a perm go wrong. I wore a russian style scarf (my ethinicity is Russyn) for about three weeks before I was able to afford it being straightened. She doesn't necessarily have to go full hijab (which could never hurt) but headscarves are used by more than just Muslim women.

Why doesn't she try a hijab for a few weeks? Or a bandana? Hair extensions run around $200. That's alot of money if you don't need to spend it. Wigs can be cheaper even.
