Assalamu alaikum Sr. Fareeda,

Thanks for the suggestion. We will discuss it with our management. However we also get some complains via PM that the current forums already too many, responding to the 3 new forums that recently we added.

For those who questioned regarding the 3 new forums, because under general we have too many post, and if we doing search, many times we get error because "timeout", if possible we will move some posts there to the new forums.

Wassalam,

Salams,

Why don't you delete some old forums, for example keep only one general forum and merge two together.

Salams,

Here are some suggestions if they may help insha Allah.

You can delete some and and merge these:

1. Politics: Merge all, current events with world politics and conspiracy theories!

2. American Muslim Professional Association: This group has no disucssions and is useless for us, it can be merged into education or training:

3. Arabic Language can be merged into the education forum within subjects, home study etc

4. Islamic Arts & Literature can be also merged within the Education Forum

5. Books, Newspapers & Magazines can be merged into literature, in the Education forum.

6. Websites & Internet should be named: Computers, IT & Building Websites

7. All the Regional forums should be merged into Current Affairs/Politics or, Introductions/General Discussions.

8. Intrafaith and Interfaith should be one Interfaith forum or some of the topics can also be merged within an Islam Forum

9. Women Men & Youth should come under Muslim Communities

10. The forums on Prophets, 'Discussions, Basics of Islam' and 'Discussions Islam for Non Muslims', 'Pillars of Islam', 'Quran & Sunnah' should all come under one heading: Discussions on Islam

11. Islamic Finance should be deleted and instaed you should have Working in the Community, Employment, Careers, Training, Volunteering etc

12. The Events Forum should be right at the top with and Introductions, Announcements, and a New Converts forum, where people can see them!

13. There should be also a Parenting and Home Education forum with Family Matters forum.

Asslamu alaikum,
People who visit Islamicity I believe people who want to know/discuss/learn about Islam/Islamic related issue and or want to interact with Muslims.  So the topic of this forum should reflect the visitor interest. If I want to know about computer I will not come to this forum, because I believe  there is not enough computer expert that I can rely on them to increase my knowledge about it. On the other hand like we can see so many of the visitors/forum members well versed in quran, bible and other faith related issue. I think in  current categories we see religious, culture (art, literature, media), politic, regional all have some kind relationship with Islam and Muslim.
Salam/Peace,

Semar

Assalamualaikum Semar,

First of all this is Islami City Forum.

Secondly would you mind telling me how adding Computers with IT and Websites, instead of the present title IT & Websites is Unislamic or unrelated to Muslims? I am just correcting the moderators and letting them know if they wish to put something about computers to include it in their titles. It is true that if you want to know about computers you may go to another site, but how about if someone wants to create a Muslim web group on the computer or wants to ask Muslims for help with software issues, that non Muslims won't bother answering unless they are paid for the job? What is wrong about volunteering in the community to benefit Muslims?

This forum I have visited so far has numerous non-muslims, and so far I have only interacted with mostly Non Muslims. Do you mind telling me where are, our Muslims if this forum is meant to be for them? In fact I have included topics that are meant to HELP Muslims and our community, and bridge the gaps between us and the west, by including very important issues relate to the improvement of our character. Even the prophet is known to have said that religion is moral character.

The prophet was asked, "which Muslim has the perfect faith"? He answered, "he who has the best moral character".(Tirmidhi)

Is there anything unislamic or wrong about my suggestions to include self improvement topics and counseling for the benefit of Muslims (and others)?

As I don't understand what seems to be the problem.

No I didn't mean that computer or IT is un-Islamic, but what I wanted to say computer or IT is not part of the "Islamic subject", like when we go to school there is islamic subject, computer subject, biology subject etc

I just said that in my opinion it doesn't need it. Yes nothing wrong this forum have IT/Computer catagory however probably will not have too many post. For now if sombody need simple computer help they can put it in general, like on the other day Abuaisa asking how to mange his bunch of password.

Volunteuring is a good thing to do, I agree 100%, I think this part of the main Islamic teaching help each other in good deed.

I think this forum for everybody, so alhamdulillah many vistors from other faith and muslims too.

Nothing wrong and there was no problem. I just said my opinion about that, that's all. So cool don't please, people might  agree or disagree with your opinion or my opinion, so please don't make it big deal.

You are not reading my posts but just jumping to defend yourselves all the time.

Nothing wrong with asking a question so relax Semar, as no one is disagreeing with you as much as you are with me. What makes you think I need to "cool it"?

I only asked "I don't understand what seems to be the problem."

Can you see me fuming up or getting angry? Remember you came into this thread and started picking on this topic which I started for the moderators, not the other way around. Sure you can disagree as much as you want as long as you know that so can I, and that you must practice what you preach and don't make a big deal out of it, because I certainly will if I am attacked by you or if anyone disagrees inconsiderately. This part of my dawa work. Just because I am a sister doesn't mean as a brother you are "above" me and can "dictate" to me or tell me to be quiet or 'cool it', while you carry on debating how you choose to.

After all this is a discussion forum!

....And smile :)
