Asalamu Alaikum..................how would i convince someone (a muslim) by using the quran only that muslimahs actually have to wear the hijab and not just dress modestly. if you are able to assist please give some ayat...........magic is also an issue. from my understanding a certain form of magic may not be haram but it is best to not get involved with that type of deal at all. these questions are for my family, husband and children. i am greatly disturbed by magic in any form and the fact that my girls do not cover. i really would like assistance proving with quran what is correct.

any assistance will be greatly appreciated, ensha Allah.

Walaikum Salam wa Rahmatullah

Welcome to Islamicity.

Sister, here are ayahs and hadiths concerned with hijab.

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent , and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, bosoms) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands fathers, or their sons, or their husbands sons, or their brothers or their brothers sons, or their sisters sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful

[al-Noor 24:31]

and not to show off their adornment. The general meaning of this phrase includes the outer garment, because if it is decorated it will attract mens attention to her.

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves}. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful

[al-Ahzaab 33:59]

It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that Aaishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to say: When these words were revealed and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms) they took their izaars (a kind of garment) and tore them from the edges and covered their faces with them.

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4481. The following version was narrated by Abu Dawood (4102):

These were the ayaat from Qur'an. I wish you also explain your daughters that hijab in no barrier for us. We can move around with confidence and safety. Infact women in hijab are respected. Show them pics of many women who are revert and are in hijab. Also stress them over importance of following the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. A muslim shud submit his/her will to Allah swt 's command.

Also, read few poems at our section {Poems, literature}, dealt with hijab. Insha Allah, shall provide those links.

Regarding magic. Sister, no form of magic is allowed in Islam. Yes to deal with the magic, if we are affected, we are to treat it with ayaat of Qur'an and the duas suggested thru hadiths.

I just shared few poems . Am unable to share that link now, as i exceeded the limits of posts today. Insha Allah, shall sign in later and share

Shukran Jaziilan. I am going to visit the poems. I know that my family loves Allah but they dont seem to get that they have to show it in certain areas that may not be so easy for them. I feel like a hypocrite because I left the deen but I feel so incredibly blessed and loved on by Allah to be back. Its like i am on fire now and i cant do enough to please Him. I am truly looking forward to Ramadan. I may need to slow down and not push things but my heart really hurts to see that they are being deceived and dont realize it.

Don't worry sister. You are a mother to them. Am sure you must also be making lots and lots of duas for them. Its Allah swt , who gives hidayah. Am sure insha Allah, your efforts shall not go waste. So, don't get depressed. And yes sister, also don't ever think that there's some magic.sihr, so the things are wrong.

Anyways, duas have the power to change destiny. Duas with complete trust in Allah swt, with tears flowing, do get answered. Use this weapon to cut down all the problems of your life. May Allah swt help you. Ameen.

Stay active here. We have many good sisters around. A feeling of sisterhood, makes us very strong, and boosts our courage. Smile

The Quran is perfect, complete and fully detailed as revealed by our Lord. And anyone who believes and trusts his Lord will only follow his words without any ifs or buts.Below is the correct translation of the verse not interpreted under the light of any other source other than the Quran alone.

[24:31] And tell the believing women to subdue their eyes, and maintain their chastity. They shall not reveal any parts of their bodies, except that which is necessary. They shall cover their chests, and shall not relax this code in the presence of other than their husbands, their fathers, the fathers of their husbands, their sons, the sons of their husbands, their brothers, the sons of their brothers, the sons of their sisters, other women, the male servants or employees whose sexual drive has been nullified, or the children who have not reached puberty. They shall not strike their feet when they walk in order to shake and reveal certain details of their bodies. All of you shall repent to GOD, O you believers, that you may succeed.*

*24:30-31 Dressing modestly, therefore, is a trait of the believing men and women. The minimum requirements for a woman's dress is to lengthen her garment (33:59) and to cover her chest. Tyrannical Arab traditions have given a false impression that a woman must be covered from head to toe; such is not a Quranic or Islamic dress. One should also avoid wearing tight fitting clothes as it reveals the details of the body.
