" Madre de Dios" in spanish
....which translates to " Mother of God" in English. My Catholic friends use this term very often in their daily prayers and life. With 'Mother of God' they mean Mary, mother of Jesus (pbuh).
Pati, your answer to my question (in Islam for non-Muslims- topic "Question about the Prophet" was not incomplete. I do not question the status of Mary (as). The Quran, I find to give a higher respect than what I find in the Bible. The Quran's choice of words elevate Mary to her higher rightful place.
In your answer however, I see you did not mention or address my question and concern about "Mother of God."
I don't know if you realize the simple and clear meanings behind those words. They are a claim that says:
1) God has a Mother.
2) Since in Catholism "Mother of God" refers to Mary, this claim means that Mary is the Mother of God!
I would like you to shed some light, how that is possible and what it means?
Hasan

The friends of God will certainly have nothing to fear, nor will they be grieved. Al Quran 10:62
