Umar ibn al-Khattab
Umar, who dismissed Khalid from all military and services later regretted for what he did to Khalid. It is said that after the Hajj of 642, Umar had decided to re-appoint Khalid to the military services. But fate had decided otherwise, when he reached Medina, news of Khalid's death reached him.
