Dear brothers and sisters in Islam..
Pls. help me in finding a match for my sister age 23, height 5.3" Undergraduate, color medium fair, basically from a middle class family here in hyderabad, india separated within 3 months of marriage due to unavoidable circumstances. Many proposals are turning down due to my sister's color and dowry demands here locally. Pls. help me out........ |

salam,
Brother my duas are for you,i have suggestion for you,ask her to continue her studies,give her some time do adjust and than think of second marraige,i mean dont just look for a life partner but rather look for a new life which will give her peace,its a hard time for her so just be with her emotionally and make her feel that she is not helpless.
Have faith in Allah,insha she will get better than what she lost.this is a hadith also.

My dear brother,
From the bottom of my heart i thank you very much for your encouraging message. I feel proud to be a member of this forum and to know that there is someone out there who could also feel the pain and agony of both me and my sister. Presently we are going through a very tough time but, never losing trust in Allah Subhana wa taala. Insha'allah as you have said, she will indeed get better what she had lost.. yes give her some time,dont hurry for another man,its not easy for a woman like men to forget her ex husband,so be patient.the best will knock your door when it is the best time.insha allah.and remember me in your dua when the best knocks your door.

Yes, too much pressure is put on families to come up with large dowry's. This is not Islamic teaching. SO many people in these Asian countries are starving whilst others spend thousands of dollars/pounds on a celebration. Most certainly if you are not a family of means your social status is practically non existant. This extravagence is a sin.
