As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Alhamdulillah

I pray and hope that we continue this thread. insha Allah

A very good example of gratitude shared by the brother. JazakAllahu khayr. May we always be grateful to Allah swt [ in every state of our life] Ameen.

Thankfulness frees the heart from greed, jealousy and envy. When we are thankful to Allah, we remain mindful of Him and His continuous Mercy toward us, and this in return humbles us and improves our characters.

A very beautiful dua, which i soon byhearted when read it at first -

Allahumma innee a'uzubika min zawaali ni'matik , wa tahawwuli aa'fiyatik, wa fujaaa ati niqmatik, wa jamee' e sakhatik

O Allah ! I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the changing of [my] state of well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment and any kind of displeasure from You.

Is n't it a beautiful  dua ! SubhanAllah

We welcome biraslan to Islamicity. Wishing  you a very happy stay here.

As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Hope you all are doing well and are in best of Imaan.

It's days and days that we are inactive. Thought to revive this thread

Here's the answer to the previous question :

The prophet (peace be upon him) called Umm Waraqa -  the martyr. She hoped for death in the cause of Allah. Therefore, at the battle of Badr, she asked the prophet (peace be upon him) permission to join the Muslim army in order to treat the wounded or she might win the martyrdom.

The prophet peace be upon him said to her:
Allah would grant you martyrdom, stay home you are a Martyr."

She memorized the Quran by heart, The prophet therefore allowed her to lead he household of women in prayer. She kept doing the rites of Islam until she was murder at the hands of two slaves: Male and female. These two slaves killed her because their freedom was condition on her death.

In the morning Umar ibn Al kHattab said by Allah, I did not heart the recitation of aunt Umm Waraqa last night. According he checked her home and found that she had dies. He said, The messenger of Allah was truthful when he used to say, Le us go to visit the martyr

Umar ordered the killers to be brought before him. They confessed their crime, thus, he sentenced them to be crucified, and they were the first people to be crucified in Madina. May Allah have mercy on her, who won the martyrdom, which she has asked before.

The first martyr in Islam was a woman, Hadhrat Summayyah. In the caliphate of Hadhrat 'Umar, Muslims came under attack from the Roman army at a place called Marj as-Safar. A newly wed bride among the Muslims, Umm al-Hakim, after her husband was martyred by the Romans, fought all day alongside with other Muslims. Before the day was finished, Umm al-Hakim had killed seven of the enemy soldiers. Muslims paid their tribute to their heroine by renaming Marj as-Safar as Qantara Umm al-Hakim.

Salamo Aleikom

Masha'Allah. Excellent thread, Sister seekshidayath.

I hope you'll continue the quizzing. Although I may not know much, it's good to research/read the answers to expand my knowledge base.

Jazak'allahu'khyran.

As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah

JazakAllahu khayr for the postings br. Duane, Chrysallis and NuraB

Addding little to notes to the answer of Br. Duane .....

Romans were repeatedly attacking the Muslims. Umm Hakim was to get married to Khalid bin Saeed. She asked for the postponement of marriage b.cos of romans attacks. But Khalid said he was sure of his martydom in next fight with Romans. The marriage was therefore solemnised near a bridge which is called -  Qantara Umme Hakim. [ The bridge of Umm Hakim}

The nupital feast was arranged. The people had part-taken of the feast when Roman forces arrived and fighting began. Khalid fought and was martyred. Umme Hakim got up in her bridal costumes, pulled up the long nails of the tent and attacked the infidel Romans, killing seven of them.

Is n't inspiring !
