The seek the purpose of life isn't as relevant as people may think. Actually I believe it's some kind of obsession that comes from the fact we have much troubles accepting we are terribly finite (in a broader sense).
There may (or may not) be a meaning to the intrinsec nature of the universe, but we human may never known of it truly. Truth to be told, in fact the sole notion of sense if a human concept and may not be appropriate to describe the way things actually work, just like in the universe there are no right and left, no up and down. People may believe they know the truth and the nature of the universe through the revelations, but they can't be right. Even if you read the revelations (Qur'an, Bible or any others) none will explain you the nature of God, to all question regarding the question beyond which there can be no further question all revelations will answer God without actually even conceptualizing God. As such even the most pious person will not fully understand what he worships and thus no affirmation on the purpose of life can be given. Although we human can never find the full meaning of life and existence, the quest for this knowledge may still make sense. The struggle for a meaning can give life itself a meaning to some point (against it's all relative), and within the frame of universal rules we have the freedom (which is again all relative) to construct our own reason to live. |

Why are you assuming this? Isn't this statements based upon your own limited vision? How can you know if "God" has a vision of mankind reaching full enlightenment with regards to the purpose of life? why are you trying to establish/maintain limitations, when you obviously have no authority to do so? A true seeker would place no limitations on what is possible to attain. To be a seeker means to seek. Limitations means there is nothing more to seek after a certain point, possibly imaginary but nevertheless significant in its power to seduce mankind into a sleepy state of ignorance. The point is he doesn't know and can't prove whether or not god exists and, just as importantly, neither can anyone else.

whether or not God exist is not the issue. The issue is that he claimed that man "can never find the full meaning of life and existence" He simply does not have any proof to claim such a limitation to man. he simply cannot know if this is possible or not. |

Even though I'm christian; I'm believing myself more in an agnostically way tough because I think there is more like a higher order or something but the belief in a spiritual higher observer and creator seems to me quite akward. Of course I don't want to insult anyone by that opinion; I respect everybody for his believes but I thinkt there is no reason to not discussing this issue beforehand. The things that we don't know for sure are how old our lanet really is and how long it needed to find this "balance" which is mentioned in the text above. Some scientist have stated some theories which are mostly accepted as true or at least believable; so the belief that the balance has come itself to its current state is from my point of view not as incredible as it is stated in the text above and to make just one creature responsible for that seems to me quite simple handled as a solution though ... this maybe is just to unusual to me and my own thinking; again I don't want to insult anybody for his believes; I just want a rational discussion if you don't mind. :)
peace out ! |
