Again, this isn't even science. It's just common sense. As things recede toward the horizon, they generally get farther away. Why wouldn't this be true for the sun?
Do you even know where Toronto is? Anyway, it doesn't matter, because even the route from Los Angeles to Australia ought to go north nearly to Alaska. It just doesn't happen.
I'm not the one in need of an adjustment to my prescription. If it's a disc, it should appear as an ellipse when viewed at an angle. As for instance at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, when it is 30 degrees above the horizon. Either that, or if it's still directly facing the UAE at 4 p.m. your time, then it should appear as an ellipse to the people four time zones away, at high noon on the West African coast. It can't be directly facing both regions simultaneously.
Actually, we can explain it. You're the one who can't explain it. Edited by Ron Webb - 18 September 2015 at 5:35pm |

No joke airmano, I often thought of this. I mean think about it. A male and female are created then generations are produced after them. Also look at the world, it runs on precise calculations. IF (this happens) THEN (also this will happen) ELSE (the other will happen) (otherwise) END |

Actually, the Sun looks bigger when it is about to set and when it rises (when the Sun is at the horizon).
All of your's and sciences' explanations have failed because you and science seems to think that the earth is a spinning globe. ALL of it is shot to pieces once you come to the conclusion that the earth is in fact flat (as a pizza, pancake etc). Edited by Abu Loren - 19 September 2015 at 3:19am |

A STRANGE PHENOMENON
I have seen a strange object in the sky twice here in Sharjah. The first time I was sitting on a bench at City Centre near the Park and I often look up and watch the airplanes going over head (from nearby Dubai Airport). So an airplane goes by then all of a sudden an silvery object or light about the size of a tennis ball shoots past it like faster than a speeding bullet (it was not Superman). Anyway, it was difficult to gage the distance, so I could not tell if it was below the airplane or far away. The second time I was sitting on a bench at the Marina side where I take the pics of the moon and suddenly this silver ball shot past out into the sea. Strangely enough this area also has a lot of flight traffic. Airplanes inter change along this area as they come in to land at both Sharjah and Dubai Airports. |

Exactly. And yet common sense should tell you that things are moving away from us, and therefore should look smaller, when they move toward the horizon. How do you explain it?
In what sense have my explanations failed? I can't recall you even trying to refute them. On the other hand, I have refuted your "flat earth" theory many different ways (constant apparent size of the sun, geometric impossibilities, airline routes, among others), and your answers always reduce to appeals to "supernatural forces" and "just accept" and "man simply cannot explain this" and "trust what I say". In other words, no explanations at all. |

Yes indeed that is very strange. However, a spinning earth around the Sun does not explain it either.
I re-iterate that there are supernatural forces at work that science simply cannot explain. The Sun, for example, do not produce it's energy by Nuclear Fission, science could never explain it because only Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala the creator of the heavens and the earth knows. Just accept it and move on. |

Sure it does. A spinning earth means that the sun is not moving away from the earth. Rather, the earth is moving relative to the sun.
There will always be things that science cannot explain. That's what makes science so exciting. But just because we don't fully understand it, that doesn't make it supernatural.
The sun's power is produced by fusion (of hydrogen into helium), not fission. Science not only explained it many decades ago, but also demonstrated the principle many times, often quite dramatically: Then just last year, we were able to detect neutrinos from the specific type of fusion reaction that had been theorized to be powering the sun. That was the final piece to the puzzle. There is no longer any doubt about it. At least not among rational and informed people.
If we had done that, you wouldn't have that marvelous electronic device sitting in front of you, which you use to denigrate the same kind of scientific enquiry that created it. The irony is stunning. |
