Sorry for making another thread on this but I do need to reply. this isn't really over, even if you think you it is I'm sorry but this is still not resolved. Mediation doesn't work when you close down. It still keeps the problem and issue alive, not resolved.
But it gets me angry when I and anyone else participates in something and is involved and then suddenly I and anyone else can't any more because its been moved elsewhere, How is that best from your stand point of view, How is this polite ?, IT is very INCONSIDERATE, yes you are moderator/s but you also need to do what is best for the participates NOT YOURSELVES, you cannot go on personal conviction. You never addressed this Peacemaker! I would like you and the rest of the team and the Admin to consider this. It is impolite and rude, how would you feel if this was you, that you were involved and there was no problem but your talks with others was moved somewhere you cannot anymore, for another reason it is not fair on those you have replied to but cannot anymore. it is somewhat impolite too. What is one suppose to do create another thread, I addressed this problem sometime ago and it never got solved or looked into but my predictions have come true. unfortunately. Well I'm sorry. Not everyone can be like you read above, how is it best to move a thread/s when people are invloved ?? As I said it is inconsiderate, think from your standpoint how would you feel?? you can always wait till another time when the thread is not active anymore. Best to communicate, I had to wait for a few days before any moderator came along. best to communicate would help in resolving the issue at hand and with others by which you get to see how they feel to, its not always about the topic starter. That shows that they too have a concern about something with same issue.
Yes you may have a point but.... How do you get to know others thoughts about something on the same issue. If this board is for all, then all have a concern else well, is this board created for the people of similar interest or is it for the moderators? |

Hi Angel, It is sad that you were involved in the thread that was moved. Other options, besides moving thread, was to close or delete. So, the best option was to move it. Whenever Islam is relevant in any discussion, a topic that has views deviating from mainstream Islam, has the place only in intrafaith section. The best thing would be to start a thread in the right section in the very beginning, and discuss the matter where it belongs. That would, hopefully, solve the problem, at least to some extent. For example as explained in another thread: Interfaith section: It is for Interfaith dialogue, where Muslims ( with references from main stream sources of Islam ) discuss with non-Muslims. We encourge that dialogue takes place in a cordial atmosphere on various topics including religious tolerance. Qur'an tells us: "Let there be no compulsion in religion". If a Muslim user believes in something that is contradictory to main stream Islam, he or she is welcome to discuss that in Intrafaith section, but not here. Intrafaith section: Matters/topics, related to various sects, are discussed where only Muslims who may or may not belong to a sect take part. Islam and Science section: It is devoted for Scientific topics that are relevant to Islam. Islam for non-Muslim Section: Non-Muslims can ask questions about Islam, but discussion can not take place here. These are some points. Thank you for your input, Angel. Moderator Group |

sad?? yes but rude also!!!! like I said you have another option wait till it becomes inactive and then move it, that is much more better than disrupting a converations and dialogue between people, don't you think?. I know why threads get moved, to keep things in a tidy perpective, put it in the corrosponding section, the older moderators never moved a thread when its very much/ or much active. there were other threads I mentioned. This place is getting VERY CONFUSING as to what is and isn't, it was clear cut before, not anymore, people knew exactly what was excepted of them, not really now. things were kept to the guidelines, and not to something else that was not with the guidelines and then to make it out to be part of the guidelines, I am seeing this more and more these days. for example what you said Peacemaker about not having discussions here. People should also be able to voice their concenr on the same issue and not delete them as you did with Sulyman twice! It is better to have one thread on a issue/problem than recreating the same again and aagin, that it the better way. Don't shut people out with they too obviously want to be heard about it. What would be better is to sick to the guideline as to what they say. We have them and can refer back to them, but that is quite difficulty when you inject something that isn't part of the guidelines! And if there are more moderators, I think there needs to be some assigned to certain sections and not others. Having a small team was better to keep up with things but not for a very large board but having more moderators on is going to make things a bit difficult.
honestly those threads, are technically interfaith, not intrafaith. Einstein and God, music thread got a lot of mixed faiths from different places.
I agree with that. Interfaith means mixed religions and faiths and beliefs to share and dicuss/to have dialogue about different beliefs.
And this has always been about anything science and what you said.
Discussions have always been the point there between muslims and nonmuslim, as well for non muslims asking questions. When did that change and where is that in the guidelines. Honestly, the current moderators have been doing a good job but when it comes to setting the rules & guidelines, you are very much changing it, you are not sticking to them as you claim to be. I have been here a long time and know what is what isn't you are changing that, and I don't think it has much to do with the guidelines. When the guidelines came in from Nausheen who updated it for this new board, that was suppose to end confusion and keep this board cordially and the moderators keep to that but now we have a new group of moderators who seem to go on something else. it gets very hard and tiring, not to mentioning confusing when some thing new pops up and there is no mention of it, like I said about not discussing issues here in the comments and complaints sections, And now we can't do that in the islam for non muslims, there has never been a rule about that. IT HAS NEVER BEEN A problem. If you are going to make new rules adn changes to the guidelines, make a annoucement about it not do what you did and say that is not allowed. I think we need to move back to the basics with this place and just stick to it. Edited by Angel |

See Peacemaker, what I mean about people with the same issue. You should not shut them down when they have a concern / issue. People have a right to to voice their complaint on same topic without creating a thread.

The best thing would be to ask why the topic was made in a certain section, some people cannot get to the proper or right section closest to their topic or subject, moving a thread on them doesn't do any help. You'll just get a lot more complaints. |
