have agreed to let her be raised in Islam. I would like to know where to find
more information on procedures for new children. I know that he will be
shaving her head after 7 days and that he is sending money home to his
family to have a sheep sacrificed for her birth (that weirded me out a little at
first). I don't want to run into too many suprises along the way so I would
like some help in researching what is needed for small children. I have
researched the faith in general and know what is expected when she gets to
an age of understanding. Thanks for any help.

It might be rude awakening for both of you here in this matter.
I doesn't really matter here bcs the conception has already taken place before the solemnization of Nikah, the sunnah of Aqiqa( sacrificing a goat-sheep etc) and the shaving of head are already invalid. You don't need to put forward  that you are a Christian and your fiance is Muslim. It really doesn't matter, you live in the US, it is a free country --free from the moral laws and you are having a baby before wedlock. It is not Christian like to conceive before the wedlock. Is it?
You sure are in an unconventional situation. Now you have stated the situation to the forum, you may have a way out the jam religiously speaking by reverting ( your error will be wiped off)but your fiance will need to get some big time help to expiate for his sin-- not behaving as a follower of Islamic tradition.

Sign*Reader,

Even for a Christian she would have repentence to see to for sex outside of wedlock.  Sadly, chasity is just not focused on here as much as it should.  Its seen as old fashioned and backwards.  But there are some of us that still believe that.

orion30,

The hardest part of coming back after falling hard is taking those steps towards repentence.  Prayer, faith, and self evaluation.  Sometimes the hardest part, for me at least, was after everything else, was not dwelling in the guilt.  Get married and try to make things right with each other and with God.  Other than that, congratulations on the little girl.  All children are a blessing.

Well, I am not at this moment prepared to convert to Islam to wipe my sins
away, but rather going through the Christian process of repentence. What
type of things should my fiance be doing according to the Quran to "clense"
himself? Could you show me where to find these things so I might read it
for myself as well? Thanks to everyone for the input thus far.
And I do feel very blessed with this little girl despite the situation!

As a non muslim (Christian), I would suggest your fiancee talk to a local Imam.  The two of you should get married soon.  He would have to give you Mahr (dowry) that is yours to keep no matter what, or you can give it back to him if you chose for combined expenses.  Marriage is a contract in Islam and you both have rights.  However, for his repentence.  The Imam will know what to do.  Probably require abstinence until the marriage, prayer, Quran recitation and things like that.  There is a site you might want to look at..

http://www.askimam.org

People can ask questions there and get answers.  There are also Fatwas (religious rulings) on a number of subjects.

Dear Orion30,

You stated this:

"Well, I am not at this moment prepared to convert to Islam to wipe my sins  away, but rather going through the Christian process of repentence."

As a Catholic, I'll remember you in my prayers.  Always remember God forgives AND forgets.  He loves you, no matter what the sin may be.

Peace be with you......

Patty
