You know, I was thinking of the long one in the other thread that starts, "A simple way to experience Christ....." But I guess you are talking about the one in this thread that starts, "I did a little rearranging and put simialar paragraphs together and tried to stick with the order of dates..."? Please discuss this subject in detail because it has a lot to do with the proper understanding of christainity. That is because the Jews and the Muslims do not believe in any begetting business. Only the christians have got it. Does god beget?? If he does then what does he beget? Does He always beget? Why does he beget? Is it begetting in the real sense of the words or only metaphorical/ symbolic?? Please elaborate. Thanks. |

Also there is a post of mine on page 19 that is for you to, its the only one of mine on that page, so it won't be hard to find.
yes this one in this thread. You can if you want to, respond to my view on "a simple way to experience Christ". No rush I know you got other things to do. Edited by Angel |

>>>>ah! what i said is that I could not worship a jealous God who gets angry & punishes people for not worshipping or paying attention to Him. <<<<< What god in history doesn't? BTW if you said that to a Hindu worshiper yes those comments are offensive. Hindus believe those thousands [or millions] of gods are avatars of the one God. Hindus believe that we cannot fully comprehend God [or Brahman] therefore God shows his divisible qualities of himself that is comprehensible to us. To pure monotheists, this is polytheism regardless whether those avatars are parts of God. Of course pure monotheist don't believe in parts of God just the whole. Edited by Israfil |

Hmm. I have to try to see your point of view to know how to answer you. I'm answering without fully understanding your angle. The word Christian means Christ-like. This term was first used soon after the Christ's resurrection. The term Christianity, however, came much later. It refers to the things man added to God's revelation concerning Christ, making a system of worship. Christianity does have God's revelation, but man's teachings and man's traditions have been added to God's revelation. Christ is a real and living person, not a system. And how is Israfil suppose to experience Christ if he doesn't believe in trinity or never joins the system. To experience Christ, one must believe in Him, the person, but one does not need to join any system. Tradition has tried to entangle the two; I prefer to stick to the pure word of God. Note that I didn't say that a Christian doesn't need to be in the church. The New Testament does reveal the church, but the church in the New Testament is not the system of denominations that make up Christianity today. Just as Christ is a person, the church is the people, the believers. The system is neither Christ nor the church. Edited by JasperStone |

One does not join the church. I would underline what JasperStone has said. One is BORN "organically" into the church. You join a political party or a sorority. You may join a club. You may join the YMCA or join the Lion's Club, Rotary Club, or the Knights of Columbus. The true new testament church is not entered by joining in that sense. It is entered by a spiritual birth. By a life regeneration you are born into the Christian church.
