Note: Sorry title meant to be interrogations.

Ok Salam.

Its like 3am right now, im in the uni library, just trying to be ahead of my work, so dont have to rush anything last minute, hearing other people type is also keeping me sane, Alhamdulillah means I wont go on a rampage any time soon Insallah.

Anyway, point of thread are those annoying people who introgate me all the time. You see every semester we kind of change classes, and sometimes fall into classes were we dont know the people.

I was just wondering if you lot get this same introgation done to you for the same reasons.

I meet a Muslim from class, btw this is like 95% of the time lol. Its like, soon as I meet a new Muslim, I know the first 10 mins of the convo.

Him: Salam Brother

me: W.S

Me thinking: Brother? Anyway seems like a nice guy.

Him: So where you from? Or you convert? (or names all Muslim countries expect mine)

Me: No im Turkish

Him: Masallahhhhhh

Me Thinking: Erm ok, whats that for.

Him: Sunni? Shia? Salafi? What are you?

Me: Sunni

Him: Alhamdulillahhhhh

Me thinking: OK nice, hope we dont get into the secreterain business

Him: Do you pray?

Me: Yes I do.

Me thinking: dude that is between me and Allah but anyway.

Him: I heard in Turkey, things are very bad? <(Extactly this phrase)

Me: Like what?

Me thinking: Great here we go.

Him: You know the Hijab ban in Uni

Me: Yeah, bad law, wrong deccesions, life sucks, will change insallah.

Him: So what about the people?

Me: They want the ban lifted, most wear Hijab.

Me thinking: dont worry they wont drag the country into a civil war like you wish.

Him: Yes those Secularists kuffar, they messed up, whats the armies problem, they want EU  to much.

Me: Everyone loves the army, no one wants the EU including the Army, its just politicains doing politics like any other country.

Him: You know Mustafa Gamallllll? That (usually Jew, Zionist, Kafir, Traitor etc used here)

Me thinking: Great was waiting for that one.

Me: Well, I dont think he was a (part used before), he just did many wrong things, I think he did right things to, I think the abolishment was wrong, but ull have to take a deeper look at the situation of the time.

Him: He was traitorrrrrr

Me: Well we tend to look at it from a different angle.

Me thinking: At least he thought for his land, unlike others (I express this view if they are to annoying)

Him: We must bring back Khalifa.

Me: Yeah, id love it, but I think we should clean our backyard and learn to fight for our lands first.

Him: Brother, you know they say in Turkey, they drink/sell Alcohol, that is what Brother XXXXXX said when he went to (Marmaris, Bodrum, Antalya).

Me: Depends where you go, obviusly if you go to tourist areas  (Marmaris, Bodrum, Antalya), you wont see the best of religoious/cultural life.

Him: So brother, you know, you married? <(bound to be asked)

Me thinking: thought youd never ask, but if i was married id break your head for asking (Sorry i just find it rude, someone asking if you got a wife).

Me: No I aint.

Him: brother, Fissabilillahhhhhh, Insallah one dayyyy.

Me: Yeah, I got time, maybe after you.

Me thinking: No wonder your not married.

Convo goes to silence.

And I change to the subject to more normal things.

Anyway, I swear, like 90% of the people I meet, the convo is extactly the same with some alterations, I can just make a list of all the question I will be asked simply because im my origin, what is up with the ignorance of these type of people, honest, I just want to clear something up.

(BTW, I know most of you here know better and more, but im refering to people who would ask such a thing)

We dont sit down at home everyday talking about Mustafa Kemal, we hardly mention his name, nore do we like or want the EU, nore do we uphold secularist values and support the Hijab ban, we are against such things, but regardless we love our land, country, whatever you want to call it.

Honestly, some people need to understand that our brotherhood died 85 years ago when we were left alone to fight, we dont have our eyes on anyones land, but will rip anyones elses out if they have on ours and dare to act on it, for now its our land worth dieing for, insallah one day if we unite (as real brothers in Islam) not just brothers by say, then we can die for our land, but until then everyman for himself, that is not what I or we want, but that is reality for now. Obvoiusly we can try help each other on smaller scales, dua, charity, informing people of the suffering of each other etc.

But i just want to put the ignorance excuse aside, do these people think they are the only Muslims, or the best Muslims in the world?, or only they pray, give charity, abstain from harram? I might think so and so country sucks, there politics and system, infact every Muslim country is, no different when it comes to politics, who has benefitted Islam for the past 85 years? (since fall of the Khalifat system).

Ive seen many Muslim societies, and been to a few countries, where what ive seen is "legally and socially" enforced religion backfire, and people try to find ways around certain bans, they still drink, they gamble, still commit sin etc, but its done behind closed doors, not because they want to or because they are great people, but because they have to or they get some form of punishment. Again, im not trying to justify or say in anyway we are better, we are worse then each other, a wrong is a wrong, but what ive witnessed does make me say at times, damn ALHAMDULILLAH at least i dont have to be two different people all the time.

But id never question the beleif of someone by asking if they pray, if they want Khalifa or not, or question other fundamental personal beleifs of people regarding religion.

Ive witnessed many times, when someone disagrees with another, one has to post a verse about the Kuffar, or one has to say "i think you should recheck Aqeeda", not specifically been done to me, but generally ive seen it many times, "oh your hijab is wrong you cant speak", or "oh your not dressed in so and so cloths, or your not praying properly" seriousely i think, for those who have this attitude, they need to get a life.

Just thought id share with you brothers, guys, sisters and girls.Tongue

Walaikum asalaam

Lol, I LOVED reading this. It is so good to read something more light hearted here instead of the deep stuff we normally get.

You are SO right. A muslim meets muslim and the questions start, lol. And you kinda think..'Hey you, you my judge?'

You REALLY should think about submitting your post to a newspaper. It would be good for non-muslims to know we are HUMAN after all, lol, and do lead normal lives.

GReat post bro!.
some of us are a lot like cement:- all mixed up and permanently set
