   Thank you for your welcome.  I come here to try to understand Islam better.  I am not Muslim nor am I considering a change, but I have known and been impressed with Muslims that I have met around the world over many years.

Events in the news portray an Islam very differently than that which I saw in the many Muslims that I have met.  And I cannot understand how people can engage in such horrorific actions and justify them in the name of what appeared to me to be a noble religion.  Surely some of what I see is media distortion, but just as surely some of the actions sone in the name of Islam that they describe are contrary to the religion that I saw.

I am seeking a safe place to try to understand what is going on in this world, and how it can be made better for honorable Muslims and everyone else.

Main stream media, unfortunately, does not show Islam as it stands for. You will have vast resources here about Islam that will be very useful to you.
