As'Salamu Alaikum,

Hey a new member joins us.

Glad to see you here Bro.Murabit. Welcome to our thread.

Let me introduce you to our active members, that Bro.Murabit's posts are very qualitative. He shares lectures of good speakers. Most of them are posted at - "Basics of Islam" section.

Sis Alwardah - 4 Months !! Brother Mohammad just told me that he is going to  gift you a laptop.

Sis Aminah, your children did not attempt this question ?

Sis FearAllah JazakAllah for the attempt. Just search it again.

Coming to the answer , if  you all {old members} remember, we did discuss this question earlier and we concluded it as Abu Bakr RA. But while reading tafseer ibn Katheer and also then referred to seerah, i found it was Umar RA. I wish our members to kindly get it confirmed so that we conclude to an exact answer. This was what i read at tafseer Ibn Katheer.

This day, I have perfected your religion for you... was revealed, during the great day of Hajj the Day of `Arafah, the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah.`Umar cried. The Prophet said, `What makes you cry' He said, `What made me cry is that our religion is being perfected for us. Now it is perfect, nothing is perfect, but it is bound to deteriorate.' The Prophet said,You have said the truth.'' What supports the meaning of this Hadith is the authentic Hadith,Islam was strange in its beginning and will return strange once more.

And this one is from seerah

"This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon u, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion." [Al-Qur'an 5:3]

Upon hearing this verse Umar cried. "What makes you cry?" He was asked. His answer was: "Nothing succeeds perfection but imperfection." [Rahmat-ul-lil'alameen 1/265]

Next question

Here is a well-known line . Can u let us know the context of this line. Its very intresting and has a lesson for us.

"Silence Abu Bakr! What do you think of those two with whom the Third is  Allh." [ Bukhari ]

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: All the descendants of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent."

As Salamu Alaikum

You are correct bro Seeks, according to Tafsir ibn Kathir it was Umar (Radhi Allahu Anhu) who cried, when that Ayah was revealed. Jazakallahu Khairan. There must be some other incident when Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) cried Insha Allah I will try and find it.

Regarding the new question it happened during the time of the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) and Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) Hijrah from Makkah to Al-Madinah when they took shelter in the cave of Thawr on the outskirts of Makkah.

the second of the two, when they were in the cave, he (the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) said to his companion (Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) Be not afraid surely Allah is with us..(Surah At-Taubah 9: 40)

Salams

Verily your Lord is quick in punishment; yet He is indeed Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful (Surah Al-Anam 6:165)
"Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him is our return" (Surah Baqarah 2: 155)

As Salamu Alaikum

This refers to the question on the Ayah This day I perfected your religion) above. I wrongly stated that it was Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) who cried and bro Seeks was correct it was Umar ibn Khattab (Radhi Allahu Anhu) who cried on hearing this Ayah.

The incident when Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) cried is as follows:

A few days before his death the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) turned towards his followers and said:

Allah gave one of His slaves a choice between the treasures of this world and that which lies with Allah. The slave chose that which is with Allah.

When Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) realized that the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) he burst into tears as he realized that the death of the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) was close at hand.

Wa Alaikum Salam

Verily your Lord is quick in punishment; yet He is indeed Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful (Surah Al-Anam 6:165)

As'Salamu Alaikum,

JazakiAllahu Khair Sis Alwardah, for your efforts to search and share it with us. Now, it got cleared Alhamdullilah.

Refering the question asked earlier, you are again correct. MashaAllah. It was during there refuge at a cave of mountain Thawr. When those enemies were at very close distance, Abu Bakr RA whispered to our Prophet sallal lahu alaihi wasallam ,  "What, if they were to look through the crevice and detect us?" The Prophet [pbuh] in his God-inspired calm replied:

"Silence Abu Bakr! What do you think of those two with whom the Third is Allh."[Bukhari 1/516; ukhtasar Seerat Ar-Rasool p.168]

It was really a Divine miracle, the chasers were only a few steps from the cave.  But they could not see Abu Bakr RA and Prophet { PBUH} . What we are to learn from this is even when the sitautions of our life may seem to put in our end, we are to TRUST in Allah swt. This tawakkal, helps us to ease our condition and not develop stress over what is happening or what is to be happened. Once when we put our trust in Allah swt, its Allah swt, who looks over the matter and eases our condition.

It was in this context that this verse was revealed.

' If you help him (Muhammad ) not (it does not matter), for Allah did indeed help him when the disbelievers drove him out, the second of the two; when they were both in the cave, he said to his companion: "Be not sad (or afraid), surely, Allah is with us.'' Then Allah sent down His Sakinah (calmness, tranquillity, peace) upon him, and strengthened him with forces (angels) which you saw not, and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowermost, while the Word of Allah that became the uppermost; and Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise"

Once again i thank sis Alwardah for her efforts.

Where are our sisters and bro.Mohammad ?

May be even this time, bro.Murabit was amongst those who paid there guest visit

Next question { easy }

It is also related to hijrah of Prophet sallal lahu alaihi wasallam.

Whom did the assassins find in the place of Prophet {PBUH} sleeping , while our Prophet { PBUH ]  already was in hijrah ?
