[QUOTE]
Muslims do not believe that Adam/Eve were created in God's image may be metaphorically, the prophets who were given scripture and training under divine guidance are only ones devoid of sin cuz they have to models to sinful humanity for a contrast... like light and darkness in it's variations. In Christianity, Jesus is the only sinless one. By submitting perfectly to God, his sacrificial death was accepted as atonement for sins of whoever believes on Him. How are sins atoned for in Islam? One has to repent & ask sincere forgiveness from Allah. We also believe that some good deeds can erase small sins. Major sins like murder, adultery, idolatory - they require conscious repentance... or punishment in this life. Its like a score-card, one has to make sure they keep the negative points (sins) as low as possible, and increase the positive points (good deeds) as much as possible. Others can also pray for our forgiveness. We believe in Islam you create your own score-card. Until we die we can repent & work on our sins to turn them into good deeds. |

"O Lord, forgive me, my parents and Muslims in the Hereafter. O Lord, show mercy on them as they showed mercy to me when I was young."
