Assalamu Alaykum Rahmatuallah wa Barakaatuh
I have a question about memorizing the glorious Quran. Can anyone explain any great methods to memorize surahs quick and efficiently? I am trying to learn as much as I can. Insha allah

Alhamdulilah!
This link is wonderful and after reading it really makes you feel confident that you will be able to start memorising. It talks about how you should memorise and the sunnah. Thanks for posting this link brother.

Jazakallah for the link, the ahadith there were a much needed reminder about how easily one can forget the surahs, if not recited often. See Bro Jihad? mashallah, thanks to your questions, we are motivated/reminded about so many things in Islam. Keep up your thirst for knowledge - for you make us benefit too!!! A few tips I though I'd add:
Start your memorisation from the last surahs of the 30th Chapter in the Qur'an e.g Surah Naas, Falaq etc. This is how we are traditionally taught memorisation in Pakistan, and alhamdulilah we have a lot of Hafiz. The reason is, that the last few surahs are shorter, thus easier to remember. They also contain certain repeated ayats, and words. Some words also 'rhyme' kind of, so it becomes easier to remember. As you proceed backwards this way, the surahs will gradually get longer, hence slightly tougher. It will be like gradually going from level 1 to level 2 etc . My youngest sister memorized this way, and mashallah managed to learn all the surahs in Chapter 30 - and she only took out 1 hour daily, plus she had schoolwork, riding, swimming and all. This is just to encourage you that it is an easy task for a young person such as yourself, inshallah you shall manage wonderfully. Just make it a daily habit.
Another tip, whatever surah u recently learnt, recite in ur salaat daily - will be good practise.
Also, apart from the surahs in the last chapter, other surahs which are relatively 'easier' to memorise are Surah Rahman and Mulk. Surah Rahman is very nice to recite, its very eloquent, and the repeatitive verses make it easy to remember.
Also, a personal warning from me - I was irresponsible with reciting the surahs I learnt, so I forgot some of them . Pains me a lot. . . . so dont make the mistake I did. . . and continue your revision/recitation. If not daily, atleast weekly, monthly etc. May Allah reward your efforts.

Jazak Allah Khayr
You're tips are very helpful and I will implement them into my recitings insha allah. I also like the idea to begin with shorter surahs..I will memorise for two hours everyday insha allah in order to learn the Quran.
Thank you for your tips and concern!
